I rarely make fixed-blade knives but Scandi grind hidden tang knives have always appealed to me. Dangler sheaths are also new territory for me. I'm looking forward to next season to use one of these for camp chores.

Beautiful knives. You sure do quality work. You should post them in the Edged tools forum too. Here is the Link

Those are beautiful knives! My favorite grind on a fixed blade!

It's easier nowadays with info on the internet compared to twenty years ago when I started.

They almost look like a tanto scandi. I like the profile. What steel do you usually use?

Most of my folder knives use CPM S30V, Stellite 6K and stainless Damascus. For these fixed blades, the two hidden tang knives use S30V and the full tang with walrus tusk uses CPM 3V. I'd heard it was a great steel for bush craft knives.

From what I have read CPM 3V is very tough but can dull easily. Still it should make for a very sturdy bushcraft knife. I just got a Custom Buck 110 folder in S30V. That will be my go to next August in the BWCA. But I will still probably stash a fixed blade in my pack. I can’t help myself!
