unshavenman: "Personally, my three camping hammock flies have Zing-it!/Lash-it! for the ridgeline and tie-outs but on my community tarps (CCS Tundra) I use only Dan's cordage. I've never found it to be stretchy, and it takes and holds knots very well." Same for me. I put buried loops on 10’ sections in my kit, plus 200’ of Dan’s rope for other stuff. |

Love how small and light it bundles. Doesn't absorb water. No stretch is also great, you can run a ridgeline as tight as a banjo string. If you use a half hitch, make sure it's slippery or it's a mf to untie. The 1.75mm line is rough on the hands when you're pulling on it or sliding a tight line around on a tree. I think this type of line is better suited to hardware rather than knots. I had to use the Zing-It for the prusik loops as I didn't have anything smaller, it seemed to hold but ideally the prusik should be smaller diameter I think. I find the 3mm CCS cordage a bit bulky, stretchy and heavy, especially when it's wet. However, it feels great in the hands and is easy to untie. Not sure where I'll end up on this one, need to do some more playing around. |

fadersup: "Picked up some Zing-It cordage as it's all the rage in the hammock community. Just wanted to share a few thoughts after I used it to set up my Lean 2+ in a strong wind yesterday. I agree, which is why Lashit has brought my attention to “hardware”. There’s no way my hands can untie some of these knots utilizing 1.75 mm cord. Then again, I’ve slowly noticed that these hardware options bring longevity to my cords. I’ve used lashit on both my lean and and tarp, breaking point of 500 lbs... |

In playing with the Zing It/Lash It I would agree, getting any knots out would be a major pain in the butt. I may buy one of their continuous ridgeline kits and just go "all hardware" on my ridgeline set up, ditching the Amsteel idea all together. Continuous Ridgeline |
