I've had great customer service from ZRE. Snapped one of their ski poles a few months after purchase- they sent a new shaft the next day, no questions asked.

Just a quick shout-out to Zaveral...

A couple weeks ago in the BWCA, I was an idiot, not for the first time nor for the last, and in my knuckleheaded obstinacy cracked the handle on my ZRE paddle. Taped up with Gorilla tape and paddled out fine.

Sent it to its birthplace for repair.

Total turnaround time of 9 days, and that's including time in the hands of the USPS on both ends. Good as new.

This knucklehead just wanted to share - good folks at ZRE. Darn nice paddle too.

For those 9 days my BB Special bent shaft has felt like a lead-filled war club...

Fine.

I forgot the paddle was under the canoe...
When shifting the canoe (was upside-down near the landing), I got frustrated when it kept slipping as I tried to reposition it. Used manly strength to show it who was boss.

Karma decided that the boss could pay to repair his paddle.

Don't you hate when COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE things happen that cost you money.... I have my fair share of them.

The Zav Rec paddle was my best upgrade ever. Like you, I used a wood BB Expedition paddle for many years. The difference to a 12 oz. bent shaft was astounding.
