breakwater1: Do your packs have an IP rating for water/dust proofing? |

That's our kickstarter - I saw your post come up in our referrer traffic so wanted to make an account to assure you the Kickstarter is completely legitimate and official, and these packs will be shipping in March. Both the primary compartment and smaller front waterproof compartment have airtight, dry-suit quality zippers with t-handles. They're amazing. The Kickstarter is really set up for preorders, and we offer a nice discount. It's the quickest way to get your order, because they get sent out as fast as we can package them and get them out the door. Believe me, we can't wait to start delivering these, they're a game-changer. Any questions on the pack, let me know! Hope you get a chance to pick one up at preorder price. |

We used airtight zippers, welded seams (no stitching), and 600D waterproof TPU to ensure it's not just one of those "kinda waterproof" packs - it's truly 100% waterproof. |

I am still deciding. Our other waterproof zipper backpacks are by Feathercraft kayaks who went out of business in 2016. One feature they had was a hydration pocket that was not waterproof. This was on the back panel, between the main body and the straps. I'm not that into hydration bladders at the moment but it was also a handy place to stash things like a rain jacket on days that were raining on and off. Maybe your front strap is a good substitute for that. But that's what I'm pondering. I do like the t handles on the zippers and the zipper grab handles. That screams we really thought this through during the prototypes. |

andym: "Thanks for responding. My concerns were related purely to making sure people knew it was a Kickstarter and the caveats that Kickstarter gives. I googled Breakwater Supply and see that you have other products already for sale. Take a look at the video - that's EXACTLY what the front strap is for. Jacket, towel, or cinch down a pair of wet sneakers/boots. I get what you're saying - to people unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it's definitely a "what is this?" platform. Ex: they call it "backing a project for a reward". So the best way to explain is we just call it "preorders" because this product isn't widely available yet. |

A new company popped up in my Facebook ads with what looks like a nice daypack with dry suit zippers. But definitely buyer beware because this is a kickstarter campaign hoping to ship in March. But I’m considering giving them a go and thought others might be interested too. But I’m a bit wary because I’ve never used Kickstarter before. Kickstarter waterproof daypack |
