iCallitMaize: "This is a useless post by me but I wish you had asked this a couple of weeks ago. Marmot just had their end of the season sale. We, "the crew," nabbed four down bags. We got the 40* always summer bags that were regularly $205 for $64. It was NUTS. " I got a -40 CWM for 50% off. Never thought I'd own one. P.S. As of right now, their site still has a ton of stuff on sale for significant discounts. |

Atrain: "Check out the Aegismax sleeping bags on Amazon. I’ve had 2 of these, both for about 5 years now and they have held up great. About the size of a nalgene when packed up in its compression sack, weigh 1lb, 800 fill down. I’ll combine with a polyester liner if it’s gonna be below like 45-50 and they take me into the high 30s. Cannot recommend this enough as a great option under $100 for an incredibly ultralight option at a fantastic price. This is one that I’ll just throw in my luggage when I’m traveling too because it’s so small and lightweight and you never know when you might need it!" I worked at the largest independent outdoor store in the U.S. for five years. I thought I knew sleeping bags. I didn't know jack. After looking at this line of bags and watching part of a review of their winter bag, I am very impressed. Thanks for the tip! |

butthead: "I have bought several used bags on Ebay all with good results. But do check the shipping the bag I linked is such a high shipping cost. That is way too much as I have shipped larger bags. I agree with Butthead. Used can be a good way to snag premium gear at bargain prices. I've bought a few pieces off of Ebay and this site. I've also had great luck finding used ultra light gear on BackpackingLight.com. |

Yet another sketchy Chinese company with limited contact info and literally no return policy. No information on the environmental ethics of their company or their suppliers. No thanks. |

Sent the link to my buddy looking to upgrade on his old target special. |

I am downsizing my life and need to get rid of some of the equipment I have, including the 7 sleeping bags I own. One of these , the BA Encampment 15 has synthetic insulation but still packs down pretty small. The Lost Ranger 15 has down insulation and packs down even smaller. they are both lightweight, compact bags. If this is interest to you (or anyone else), let me know. they would be freshly laundered and are both in very good condition, no flaws. Good bags, I have just (sadly) outgrown them. If interested I can send photos. We would have to figure out a price but they would be a good deal and likely save you some money. |

Agree with Butthead about ebay...I've had good results and you can usually find something you are looking for. |

I have a Marmot Aspen 40 degree minimalist 3 season that I LOVE for BWaters trips because it compresses down to very little, about the size of 2 shoes. Wasnt super expensive (maybe $65 on sale) and not SUPER warm, but still a 3 season. However, I cannot find this anymore. Any recommendations out there for something similar in price but compresses really small? Of course, you can find them even smaller but they are over $150 or more, and would rather not spend that/recommend that. I want to recommend one to my groupmates (and get 1 for my son) who all still have the old huge bags that roll rather than stuff. They are as big as my chest and take up a ton of space. I have searched for them and bought 1 on amazon but it was bigger than the pic showed and I sent it back. I think it was $44. thanks for your time |
