I'd say a lot depends on time of the year. In warm weather, no. Just don't need the extra warmth or weight. But in cooler weather, maybe so. I've eyed a pair of wool overalls from Big Bill/Codet but not followed through. I have several pairs of their wool pants which I usually wear with suspenders. I love suspenders, and use them on some of my winter weight insulated pants too. I think I've seen some rain gear that were bibs too, but dont recall the brand.

I have actually looked into this a bit, I don't actually have a pair at his point but there are a wide range of pairs made in nylon such as

OMG People. I’m not interested in lectures about cotton etc. if you can’t answer the question just don’t. I’ve been at this got 50 years. I know a few things about fabric.

Consider some quick dry pants with suspender buttons and the suspenders to go with them. MB

I am a little larger than most around the mid-section and don't find that wearing a belt to be that comfortable spending long days sitting in a canoe but I do find a pair of clip on suspenders to be comfortable to hold my pants up without adding much weight. I find that my quick-dry pants and my PFD have more than enough pockets."
I like this idea. Thanks!

I have a pair of Filson wool bibs for winter camping and late fall fishing that I love. Never shopped Bemidji Woolen Mills before but now I definitely have to check it out!

A drawback I see, as a woman, would be planning ahead to use the latrine. :)
In the fall, also, it would be taking off my jacket and perhaps a shirt to unhook bibs.
I like bib overalls. In general they are very comfy

I wish you wouldn’t have researched these. Now I am going to have stop on he way to Canoecopia and see if they have some. Having used Carhart bibs for work I love them. Bibs don’t give you wedge’s, coveralls do. Also bibs protect your lower back better than anything else. I wouldn’t wear them when it’s hot, but on a cool windy day they would be great. My bibs even made National TV. During the flood of 1997 I was walking in front of the camera van, friends and customer said they say me, the bibs were a give away.

Right? And the upfront pockets. I can’t believe that nobody makes a lightweight, quick drying, breathable, pair of outdoor overalls.

Late to this conversation, but rain bibs are my number one item on my gear list. I know not the same thing as overalls, but I basically were my rain bibs anytime it's cold enough to not wear shorts. Nothing better than bibs when it rains and you avoid water entering your crack

Does anyone wear overalls when trekking, and if so, do you have a favorite brand? I’ve always worn a hiking pant but recently bought a pair of overalls for around the house. Super comfortable and tons of pockets got me thinking… Getting wet and trying out is the biggest issue I see that’s why I’m looking for advice. Thanks.

Lots of issues I can see with them. First, as mentioned, I have never seen any that weren't cotton. Then there is that extra material on the front of you. Under a PFD that can become uncomfortable. And as others have said, if you need to run to the latrine, everything above the overalls has to come off.
We go the last week of September. When temps get in the 30's I would not want to be overalls. That's when the synthetic polar fleece comes out with wind stopping outer layers.

I'm always adding or subtracting layers for comfort so I don't think it would work for me. I wear bibs while fishing at home all the time but I don't think it would be worth it on a canoe trip.
