Hi,

I am picking up a new Magic this spring and would like to prepare some additions prior to its first use. Not having the canoe to get direct measurements makes this a bit harder.

Can someone with the aluminum gunnel option provide me the measurements for the distance between each cross brace and the width of each cross brace to the gunnel? especially the ones at each end of the canoe.

If I need to, I could bother NorthStar, but I know how busy they are.

Thanks

So, If you mean the width of the handles and thwarts:

Front thwart (by your legs) is 19 3/4" wide, inside the gunwales.

Rear thwart (behind your back) is 21 5/8", again, inside the gunwales.

Handles - Front 6 5/8", rear 7" (inside the gunwales).

Front handle to front thwart: 49 3/4".

Front thwart to rear thwart: 42 3/4"

Rear thwart to rear handle: 59 1/4".

Small margin of error on this - measuring an upside down canoe above my head.

Edit: mine was made in 2017...possible these kind of things have changed.
