My first canoe, when I was about 15 (I'm 60 now), was a 12' American Fiber-Lite. I believe I also paid about $125 for it. It was a piece of junk canoe, but I had a ton of fun in it. Had as many as 5 kids aged 8-16 in it from time to time on the local creek, and even did some class II - III on the Housatonic in CT in it once. Never should have done that in that boat, but we were young an foolish, and two high school milers who barely weighed 200lbs between the two of us.
Ditto Voyager on not driving far or paying much

Does anyone know where I can find specs for these canoes? May look at a 12-footer but a long drive. Like to know as much as possible about it as I can.
Help
Thanks Jack

i bought one new in 1976 for $125. It was a chopper gun boat. My brother-in-law bought one too. He punched 2 holes in his on a portage. My 12 footer was exceptionally tippy with 2 occupants. It was alright for solo noodling around. Personally, I wouldn't drive far or pay much for one.

Thanks for your input. I have never seen one.
