Did you try putting the yoke on the other side of the seat?

Hi everyone,
I have a new to me 2021 Wenonah Wilderness solo canoe with the web seat. I got the matching Wenonah Removable Solo Yoke and Pads. My problem is that the yoke doesn't balance right at all. I have to attach weight, like my PFD to the back stern thwart (hand hold) to make it balance. The canoe strongly tips forward even when i shift the yoke pads as far back as I can on my shoulders. I find it annoying.
I want to be able to quickly portage my canoe while wearing a full pack and not mess with that extra step with my PFD. Is there a better yoke? Or maybe i am overlooking an easier solution to have it balance on my shoulders out of the gate?

it would just make it worse as it already tips down at the bow. I have the yoke as far forward as i can. If i put it in the back. the rear thwart is in the way too.

The obvious answer is to fill the front thwart with helium.

I use the wood portage yokes with the foam pads on it. You can adjust the balance by moving the yoke forward or back. The yoke clamps to the gunwale and is adjustable and can fit anywhere and on most any canoe with aluminum or wood gunwales,

I'm not familiar with that mount, but on the backside of the pads, if the aluminum rods which get pinched by the clamps on the crossbar have one side longer than the other, maybe you can unbolt and spin them 180 degrees so they can project forward a few inches more? If that works, it would probably change the pad angle, and maybe even THAT will be helpful for balance?
Otherwise, as earlier posters have said, call the factory, they'll know exactly what to do. I called to buy a sliding pedestal assembly for my Prism yesterday and the nice woman who answered not only answered my questions, but she had all the right questions to make sure I get what I needed.
