Wanted to get your opinion here....see if this would work, or, for a better idea. We always hang a tarp (shade/rain/eating under/etc..). Tarp is 10ftx10ft. We usually hang it about 7ft off the ground. What if we took clothespins (plastic paperclips?) and pinned some mosquito netting around the perimeter of the tarp? It wouldn't be perfect, but, for an extra lb or so of netting, we would get a room that we could eat in, relatively free of mosquitos and nats. I'm sure I'm not the 1st one to have thought of this, and thought I would hit the collective for ideas (someone probably already has pics of this). Thoughts? |

I have used insect netting in conjunction with a tarp. It is my opinion that tarps such as this with sewn on attached netting are the most efficient in terms of weight, bulk and ease of use. However, if you desire the ability to separate the tarp from the netting you have several options. I don't know your budget or other requirements but would suggest that you suspend a box net under your tarp, such as this or this . If you prefer to attach netting without a ceiling then I suggest constructing the netting so that it attaches similar to this . |

You are right, I should have searched. Doing so, brought up tons of options. Surprisingly, the ones you listed are ones I didn't see in the search, and, I actually like your links better. Thanks for the reply! |
