While pricey the Werner Bent Shaft Kalliste is light and tough. I have been happy with my 240cm for 10 years. I find the double blade particularly helpful in windy conditions.

I have used my Werner bent shaft for about 10 years and love it. Problem is finding a desirable length paddle with the bent shaft. My 220 is good for high angle paddling but not so good for low angle. Werner makes a 230 in bent shaft, but nothing longer. In addition to the wrist angle benefit the bend gives a good grip to adjust the paddle angle for entry and modified J stroking.

There have been 2 recent posts, one is still current, about kayak paddle shaft length for canoes. While looking at various brands I noticed some with offset or "ergonomic" grips. Anyone have experience with such shafts? Just holding my hands in front of me I can see that offset grips would put my wrists in a more neutral position.

Thanks for pointing me to Werner. They now have 2 kayak paddles in lengths up to 240 with bent shafts. The weights are around 20 ounces! The prices are, of course, expensive, but they must be fantastic paddles to use!
