I believe the Forest Service is looking to use these to replace campsites. Simply find a calm area of the lake, anchor, and sleep! Or for the more adventurous, simply float around the lake all night. They add a warning about getting up at night and using he latrine.

Lol "Camp Like a Loon" would be the perfect slogan for that

Oooh! Best of all worlds! Rig up a fishing line with a floating lure, and a small electric motor with a propeller and the electronic steering of one of those robot vacuum cleaners. Sleep all night and troll the lake. Wake up with a fish on the line or a snapping turtle with a hook and a fish in it's mouth for breakfast!

If only! They explicitly say not to sleep in it while floating -- could you imagine if it sprung a leak while you were asleep and all zipped up inside? Eek!

scat: "That is so cool. I see in the 2nd pic that it zips up like a regular tent. Does make me wonder what people will do with it, mostly for goofing off but who knows. Got a nice floor to it. "

Agreed! And I do like the idea of the entire floor being a mattress. It would be nice to never wake up half off your sleeping pad again. Though I can't imagine there's much thermal protection in their mattress so you'd probably have to have mats on top. Guess that would make it even cushier!

It's the next big thing folks: a self-inflating tent that doubles as a raft. Their Kickstarter was funded and production is starting so act now and be the talk of the BW next year!

Some specs:
-A mere 25 pounds (including pump)
-Packs down to a manageable 76 L
-Silpoly to keep rain out and condensation in
-Large canopy for plenty of headroom and/or speedy travel while floating (downwind only)

Kidding aside though, I could see this being fun at a lake cabin and would be happy to check it out if someone else bought it and lugged it around
