Seems logical. I would suggest soap instead of hand sanitizer, however.

In addition to what you have, I add a small collapsible trowel in a sleeve in case there is no biffy (ahahn posted a pic of similar). All is placed inside a small, light, bright blue dry bag. When folded down & clipped it forms a handle & also has a little loop for hanging. It’s pretty bomb proof & recognizable amongst my gear. I have camp soap in my kitchen gear or toiletry bag for washing hands. Oh & I remove the core of the t.p. & squash the roll flat. If it’s a long trip I have another partial/full roll squashed & vacuum sealed in my food barrel, it looks like a white brick when I’m done. The funny names have me rethinking “toilet bag”. Crap sack for the win.

Just TP - split between 2 bags/packs - and hand sanitizer.

I replace wet wipes with a hiking bidet spout that fits in the mouth of a squeezable bottle. I use the bag that comes with a Sawyer filter since I use a gravity system and don't use the squeeze bag with my filter. Wet wipes aren't LNT friendly and I am not a fan of carrying around a bag of soiled wipes if I can avoid it.
That along with tp, itself in a ziploc, and hand sanitizer are stored in a 5 liter dry bag I carabiner to the exterior of my pack for easy access.

Just TP and hand sanitizer for me. I don't use wet wipes at home so never felt the need to take them when camping, plus there's the issue of LNT as others mentioned.

Thanks! Good to know about the wipes & LNT.

Hand sanitizer isn't effective against noro virus or cryptosporidium. Also, when your hands are dirty (as in covered in actual dirt) the sanitizer is less effective overall.

This is the 2025 edition, I do keep an additional partial roll of paper stashed down in the pack for a backup.

We call ours the "crap sack" and in addition to the already mentioned items we have mosquito repellant and reading material in ours. Put it in a Cabela's bag and you could sell it....

LoonJuice: "Jackfish: "Seems logical. I would suggest soap instead of hand sanitizer, however." Why? What’s wrong with hand sanitizer? I need water for soap…" First off, hand sanitizer won't clean poop off your hands as well as hand soap.
Secondly, yes, you typically need water for hand soap. What seems to be the problem?

TP and septic safe wipes in a gallon bag. We don't do hand sanitizer back there. With the bugs laying in wait at the thunderbox, no one is wasting time on hand sanitizer! "Do your bidness, GTFO" is our motto.

Ditch the wipes and go with one of these. Less than $20, very LNT friendly, doesn't run out, won't get ruined if it gets wet, and will generally keep you from having a sh***y day.

Just want to point out that there is a difference between wet wipes and septic safe flushable wipes. If you do bring some, you need to make sure they are the septic safe variety.
