Looking as reference, by REI Quarter Dome 2p is 90". Love the pitch options if ever stuck in a rain storm during setup. Quality stuff and thoughtful design. Dan is real responsive on Reddit too. |

Bjfinnegan: "I think you're still in the realm of a typical useable length of 88" here, possibly greater if solo and laying corner to corner. I have the X-Mid 2 where interior length was a little more of an issue due to the lower sloped end walls but gives the length measurement at 92". I tend to be a little diagonal inside to run high point to high point for head and foot clearance at 6'-1". If the 92" X-Mid 2 is tight for you at 6'1", I would imagine the 88" X-Dome 2 will be tighter for me at 6'3", regardless of the more vertical walls. Not sure my 25x78x4 mattress would fit either. I'd be using it primarily as a solo, so I'm sure I could fit that way, but would be nice to be able to use it for two to help justify the cost. If it doesn't work I'd still have to pay shipping both ways, not a huge deal I guess but kind of annoying. Yeah the pitch options are nice. You can leave the fly and groundsheet all connected to pitch it fast while keeping the inside dry in the rain. I also like the easy reach for the vestibule zipper. Kind of leery about the carbon poles, though. Especially with the flat sides, which are probably going to require a lot of guy lines in bad weather, somewhat defeating the point of being completely freestanding. But no tent is perfect, they all have compromises. All in all I think it's well thought out and reasonably priced for what it is. |

Unlike the coordinated release of the X-Dome 1+ , I'm not seeing any 3rd party reviews out there yet. |
