Whenever I post this photo people always comment about the car. I loved it too. It was our very first new car. Was a gas-guzzler, but I really did love it!

Just how my husband's 17' Grumman looked. I think he painted it inside for duck hunting usage (before we met). It was his then our Quetico tripper for many years. We traded it and my 15' Alumnacraft in toward a used Wenonah Champlaign at Spring Creek Outfitters six years ago, April 10, 2008 to be exact. I think of his boat fondly and wonder if it found a good home.

Rental canoe, BWCA 1967. All they had back then for rentals were aluminum.

I owned an 18' SmokerCraft canoe when my children were young. It was the family truckster. I think that hulk weighed in at 85 lbs. It had an odd shaped hull giving a look of sponson chambers. But there were no chambers. I guess the company was thinking that the odd bulges would increase stability. It paddled somewhat like a brick.

I owned & paddled a 17 foot, standard Grumman. In the photo I'm soloing a 17 foot Osagian. Check out the high tech gear: camo pfd, leather gloves, US Army uniform pants, a Mohawk paddle, and my day glo, deer hunting, stocking cap. A 7 day canoeing & backpacking trip in late December; went out in 1984 & came home in 1985.

Wow! Lansing! I'd say "come down and see us", except that I have a terrible chest cold and cough, and you don't want me to share that with you and your family!
