I'll be testing out a similar solution during this next weeks trip. I have a 12x12 Nemo bugout, but since its a two man trip this time I'll use my CCS tarp and hang the net underneath and drop a couple of lbs and size. I bought some S biners and elastic cord to string it up underneath. I'll spray it down with perminthen (sp) this weekend. Let y'all know how it works but expecting similar results.....

I'm gonna try this set up in Sylvania this fall. Still easing the wife into the off-grid camping, but she's eager to get out and enjoy with me.

I just applied my own; it's permathrin, and I use that each season on my tent and clothing.

Looks nice. I'm probably short enough to stand up in it ;). Is there a door on the side?

We tried this on our recent Daddy Daughter trip...but in a different location. To encourage our daughters' love of the B-dub I set this up over the privvy. Unfortunately it had to come down nearly as quickly as it went up. Without the door the bottom didn't stay sealed so instead of keeping bugs out it became a bug trap! It actually made stool time worse.
I'll have to try the eating area idea...

Yup, rigs up nice under the tarp. We squeezed 4 into mine and while there wasn't room to spare, we weren't crowded.

Just returned from a solo where I had a chance to use a Sea to Summit Mosquito Box Net, and I gotta say, it rocked! It is lightweight (23.7 oz) and very easy to pitch under a tarp. Simply stake out the four corners and then tie off the upper corners using the included tie cords. While I do wish it was a bit taller (specs say it is 5' 11" tall, but that is a stretch) so I could stand up under it, I really liked the space it provided (7' 2" long x 5' 6" wide)! I believe it would easily be comfy for 2, and for a solo it was awesome.

No door. I simply unhooked one of the ground corners and lifted the net over me when I got in/out.

A bug trap on the throne sounds horrible! Your post, however, did make me laugh...hope your daughter has not been permanently scared by the experience...
