DrBobDg	12/05/2014 07:20AM   First saw one of these at Fall Lake CG two years ago. Our old Black Sheep Shelter was shot so we bought the Eureka Northern Breeze Shelter for Christmas. This is a great shelter. Feller can get the snap-in floor option and use it as a tent. The plastic Stakes that came with it were replaced with those nice long metal spike tent stakes. We save poles from old tarps to extend out other flaps on nice days rather than roll them up. The nicest thing is having 4 sides that can be closed up to protect against wind and driving rain. With a stove/ lantern running inside with the flaps down it takes the chill off. schells	12/05/2014 09:32AM   hit the send too soon. anyway, yes this is a heavy shelter that is built to last, and hold up to lots of kid use. The fabric used is heavier than a normal tent fabric. The poles are 7/8" diameter, thicker walled than other tent poles. About 10 to 12 pounds in the poles alone. probably not going to single portage with this or take on a 10 day tour around Quetico. It is for a Base camp, or car camping, where you don't have to carry it to far, or take it down and set it up everyday. The flaps that can be rolled down to stop the driving rain has been very handy when hanging out during an afternoon thunder storm. Also adds a little privacy. One thing I have noticed is that the no-see-um mesh is very fine, it prevents slow breezes from passing through. It will warm up inside. A tent fan helps to keep air moving around on in side while you are in it during the hot parts of the day. It sets up over a long forest service picnic table, with enough room to move around the table. Still yet enough room to have folding chairs, coolers and Tonka trucks. All this room is thanks to the heavy duty poles which support the more vertical walls. an investment in summer enjoyment.
butthead	12/05/2014 01:26PM   Buddy and I used his Cabelas Alaskan Guide Shelter in Sylvania a few years back. Heavy and large pack but the walls can be removed or rolled up to use as a screen house or kept on and used as very large tent. butthead
