Hey all, just thought I would let you all know that I am heading down on Saturday to hike about 40 miles or so of the Missouri Ozark Trail. I'll be doing parts of the Blair Creek and Current River sections. If I remember, I'll post a picture or two when i get back.

I'm leaving on Friday and should be close to the Ozark Highlands Trail in Arkansas by Saturday. Good luck on your hike. It will be nice not having snow.

Better late then never I guess. Here is a picture of the Current River. Nice hike that spring. I was there during the time I called "The Hesitation before Spring." There was no snow, but tree buds hadn't burst forth, grass was still brown, and there were no birds singing. It was a very silent hike.

Yep, still had a good time. I was reading a Sigurd Olson chapter the other night called "The Space Between" from The Singing Wilderness. The setting he described in that chapter was very similar to what I encountered in Missouri.

I'm staying with a friend's cousin by Lake of the Ozarks and she has said all the snow from the recent storm has melted away. Looking at the forecast, there might be a rainy day or two involved with temperatures between 30 and 60. Not too bad. I'll be curious as to how much greenery is popping up.

As long as you had a good time that's all that matters. I've been up north under similar conditions and have had a great time. Hope you did too.
