Tusc has the most recent details. I did a Sept solo there in 2015. Water levels were decent I thought for Sept. I included the Chub River, some PMA stuff, Howl Swamp......some less traveled areas. It's in a trip report.

I'll be heading there in Sept., too, housty and I've read Tuscarora Borealis recent trip report, which you'll find useful and cowdoc did one last year I think. They will be helpful, I'm sure, at least for part of your route.

A mentioned, we entered through Brant Lake this past June. Trip report

Water levels were up, making getting across Gotter Lake significantly more enjoyable (less mud & muck to deal with). Although, this meant there was little to no area to stage our packs etc. at the base of the stairs on the Flying Lake end. We just tied off the canoes at the bottom of the staircase. This wasn't a problem in any way, just an out of the norm circumstance that might come into play for you as well.

Also, the portages from Round to Brant, while flat, are boulder strewn and were muddy and wet. Of course, the mud and water may or may not be there when you go but, at least, you can still count on the boulders. ;)

The portage into Green Lake (from Flying) was a bit shrouded by a downed tree. You might end up paddling past it before seeing it but, it's right where the maps say it is.

This is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. But, be wary of the frequent portages of this EP. Individually, none are extremely tough (although Brant ~ Gotter & Flying ~ Green are challenging) but, for me, the short paddles in between don't seem to be sufficient for recharging before the next portage and this eventually catches up with me if I don't take a little snack break along the way.

Hope this helps, and have a great trip.

Looks like paradise now. That was the worst portage I've ever been on a couple of years ago. Got so wet and cold, I think I was hypothermic. Even with the heater on full blast all the way to Grand Marais I was shivering. This was the Fall of 2014 or 2015. Very nasty. Looks better now, but obviously pretty trashed from the photo. Thanks a lot for the photo memory.
