For a group that size I would recommend looking at either Red Lake or Lake Of The Woods. Just google ice fishing at both places and you will find a plethora of choices. I’ve used several of the outfitters in both areas and all have been a great experience. Might check out the sleeper houses also. Kind of neat sleeping out on the ice. If you want to be in the Ely area, check out Basswood Bob, or Mike Stark.

Hey folks,

I need your help, I just got of the phone with the men in the family, and they all want to come up and have a ice fishing trip the beginning of February. Since I live up here, I'm to be the scout.

I'd hate for them to come so far and not catch anything. I know where to fish in the paddle season, but have not done much ice since I was a little kid. It doesn't have to been in the BWCA, just where the fish are and a place to crash at night.

So where would you suggest for 6 men to go and catch fish?
