LindenTree3: "All kinds, in the Isabella area."
And then there are those spots along Wanless Rd too. Particularly the three on Homestead Lake.

"

Inspector,
I've camped at Homestead Lake before, those sites are probabally some of the better dispersed campsites you will find in Minnesota.

Huntfun,

The only places to camp nearby EP 84 are dispersed sites, just find a place that looks nice pull over and camp there. (There are no picnic Tables at Dispersed sites)

I like a picnic table to set and organize my gear on before I go in and the nearest place to your EP for that will be Section 29 Lake followed by Eighteen Lake.

It's a small parking lot and can fit about 5 or 6 cars. Please don't camp at an entry point parking lot."

Correct.
I (believe not sure) that you are not allowed to camp at EP parking lots.

I know first hand a group that camped at the Bog Lake EP. They got tickets by the Gun toting LEO's, one of the prizes they were awarded was for fishing violations, and if I remember corretly, were also sited for a fire violation.

There are a couple of gravel pits nearby (West of EP 84 on the Tomahawk rd), that i've seen people camp in regrularly.

I’m pretty sure that is county land too, so you won’t find them listed in any Forest Service documents. I used to camp there a couple times each summer in the 1980s-90s.

Looking to go into EP 84 (Snake River) this year. Since its a long drive for us getting up there, we usually arrive the day before our entry. I was curious if there are any spots to camp the night before you enter at the EP/parking lot?

All kinds, in the Isabella area.

Section Twenty-nine Lake CG is free and one of my favorites, it has three sites and one awesome site on the lake by a big rock. 15-20 mins from your entry point.

Eighteen Lake CG is also free. 20+ mins from your entry point

Divide Lake CG is nearby as well as Little Isabella River campground. 25-30 mins from your entry point respectively.
Both charge, L Isaabella River CG will definatley have sites available, Divide Lake should as well.
