Thanks for the response. Talked with the outfitter and water levels should be great for going in to bootleg on the little pony. Fingers crossed we get there and have the place to ourselves. Do any fishing while you were on bootleg? Sounds like the small mouth fishing should be pretty good.

SevenofNine: "If water levels are high then yes you could take the Little Pony on down without any problems. We went in the Fall with water levels low and it was a bit of a slog. Nothing super tough just really low water levels and lots of twists and turns.

The north campsite is a nice one. Hope you have a great trip."

Heading into this remote quite area in a few weeks and just wanted to see if anyone had been in the area lately. There’s not a lot of info or trip reports for this area, which was a reason we chose this entry point this year. But thought I’d see if anyone had any resent updates. Looks like there has been plenty of rain this year so I’m guessing either route into bootleg should be fessable. The plan is to get into bootleg and hopefully get the north campsite and setup a base camp there for our 6 day trip.

Thanks for the input,
CGriff

Entered Bootleg from the South several years ago in mid/late July on a day trip that started on Trout Lake. We fished the Bay with the outlet on the Southeast side of the lake and caught so many bass it was amazing, mostly in the 14-17" range. There was an incredible crop of blueberries also on the trail in to the Lake. Great solitude. I'd be interested to see how you do after you finish the trip.
