nicek... glad you had a good trip. LIS has always intrigued me as a nice route for a solo trip, but I don't like the idea of no campsites between the entry point and Bootleg. Is that correct?

I’m glad you had a great trip and amazing wolf story. There used to be an unofficial campsite on the south end of Bootleg. I think it’s still there. Your trip report makes me want to venture there again.

What do you paddlers know about time of paddle from EP #9 to Bootleg Lake? One tandem, my daughter and me, very light load, but no single portaging. Is five hours reasonable?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks egnuti, always wanted to explore this EP. Lack of available permits made up my mind. My 19 yo. daughter and I will have a blast. I hope to take some photos, but don't have your equipment. Always admired your photography. Thanks for response.

I did this many years ago, but I’d say at least 6 hours. A great place to camp.

Trip was outstanding. Solitude and plenty of paddling quiet rivers. We made it to Bootleg's northern site in six hours. Shaved off an hour on the way back (not intentionally). Tremendous in-and-out route. Thanks for the advice.

You can read my story on a Wolf sighting posted on Listening Point.

That is correct Jackfish, looonng stretch of paddling without an "official" campsite. We took our time and researched several "wild" sites that were definitely occupied one time or another along the stretch of the river. My daughter and I were playing out different scenarios of a trip if one was in desperate need to find a place to camp. There are several places one could set up an emergency shelter.
