Some discussion here

I'm going with an assumption that it will go well, as it is a private contractor running the reservation system. If it stretches on and on, who knows how it may affect the trip itself.

And now, confirmation via a new notification banner (new to me, at least) across the top of the reservation page:

"Alert: There are 3 notifications for this Permit

* Regardless of the Federal government lapse in funding, all permits for all entry points will be available for reservation on Wednesday, Jan 30th at 9:00 a.m. CT, for the 2019 BWCAW quota permit season.

* Recreation.gov continues to provide customer service and technical support during lapse in funding, 877-444-6777.

* The lapse in funding for the Federal government may impact your reservation and travel plans. Be aware that if you have an existing reservation during this lapse of funding period, and the location is not staffed, your reservation may not be honored. We recommend that you do not make reservations for dates that fall within the lapse in funding time frame, which began at 12 am, Saturday, December 22 and extends for an unknown period. Some locations will remain open, while others will close. Contact those local offices to inquire about their status."

Does anyone know if or how the government shutdown will affect permit reservations starting on the 30th?
