and, don't be bothered by those who will inevitably chastise you about bringing a phone along for whatever purpose you require. We have experienced in the past how a connection like that to the world outside can be disruptive to a wilderness trip, so now, my wife keeps hers cased in a waterproof Pelican box and stuffed in the pack with her sleeping bag... shut down completely except for those times that she makes her nightly call at 7:30. and, maybe will take a couple of sunset panorama pictures with it at the same time... :-)

To echo what schweady stated, last year we stayed on the peninsula site on Horse Lake just north of the Horse River inlet....and those of us with Verizon had connection. It wasn't great, but we had it.....

Hello, I have to ask so I can plan accordingly with the sitter and work. We'd usually have service Boot with Verizon....does Horse Lake have reception? I know it's awful but need to know.

My wife needs to call her dad every night. We let him know it might not happen for a few days. While base camped on the island site in the north end of Horse, she called from there each night as if we were in any big city. Verizon.
