7 days until my group heads in at Moose Lake heading towards Knife, SAK and Kek. I’ve never been to the area before. Does anyone have any “must see” sites other than Dorothy’s Islands, Eddy Falls and the Kek Cabin? I’m interested in cool historic locations, relics, etc.
Thanks in advance,

The climb up Thunder Point on Knife is worth the view.
I was in that area two weeks ago. I hope your weather is better!

Eddy falls is pretty cool. Keep a crank bait under you while paddling. Lots of bonus fish on Knife. Also, be prepared for yard sales on portages. The scouts seam to use that route a lot, and it looks like a bomb when the off in their packs every time I see them.

Bacon rock on north side of Dorothy's island, looks like a slab of bacon. Brought in to her as a gift, cant imagine what that weighs.

I'd put the pictos on Kek a lot higher than the cabin. Not sure if the cabin there is much to see or not. I've never seen it, but I recall there's remnants of an old FS fire tower up on one of those hills. Mostly, though, on Kek I'd just be looking for lake trout.

I will start by saying I've never been there yet, but the next time I'm in SAK I've heard the portage trail from SAK over to Hanson is very pretty. Supposed to be a nice little waterfall/rapids, some very large cedars and an interesting "root ball". It's on my list of things to visit the next time I'm in that area.

So Jaywalker, if you don’t mind sharing, where are the pictos on Kek? I can’t find any info on them. I wasn’t even aware of them.
Thanks,
Tony
