Headed in to Insula this coming Sunday for 6 days. Any update on the burn area's recovery? Pictures? Campsite and fishing info?

Was just through there at the end of May. Greening up pretty good but, the portage in/out of Insula still offers good overlooks on both ends of the trail.

Check out my trip report from last year. I talk about all you ask about. Williamson Island is a great spot to camp - as is the beach camp were we stayed for a week. Great and fun lake.

And in the messages/comments section, I included a pic where you can see clearly from satellite where the burn area is.

Williamson is an awesome site. We were lucky enough to have much of the north end of the lake to ourselves. We would canoe over to the beach site across from it every night to swim!

Camp in the NE bay of Insula, there's some great sites up there. Not worth staying in the burn area if you can avoid it.
