We may be camping near Entry 16 the night before we go in. Approximately what is nearby and how far away is it? Thank you

I like close! Potable water is no problem. Are there any sites on the water? Thanks

My daughter and I stayed at Fenske Lake Campground the night before entering at EP16 a couple years back. It worked really well. I don't know how far it is from the entry but it's certainly less than a half hour. It does have potable water and good latrines.

Call Chuck at Big Lake Wilderness Lodge he might have a bunkhouse, or a place for you to set up your tents. It is right by EP19, which isn't far from EP16, we have stayed there and entered on 16 several times.

I wasn't quite sure where Meander was so searched for it on G-Maps. There is street view! Looks great. Would hate to rely too much on it being vacant though.

You also try Meander Lake Campground, which is only a couple miles away from EP 16. Its small, just 2 backcountry sites and does not have access to potable water, so we have always opted for Lake Jeanette, but it is an option.

We always stay at Fenske when we use EP 14, 16 and 19 and we always like it. About 20-30 min to EP16
