While I'm only 2 hours from the BWCA here in Northern Minnesota I'm looking for suggested canoe trips down south. Trying to get somewhere between Christmas and New Years. I've looked a little at the White River or Buffalo river in Arkansas. We've paddled moderate Class II. Trout fishing would be preferred. Looking at 4-6 days. Preferably a 10 hour drive radius (though I'm not headed north) from Grand Rapids MN. OR this could be a fly to and rent type of trip if there are other can't miss rivers. Another plus is a "classic/ historic" trip- as in, "Oh you need to paddle XYZ river before you die, it's a classic!"
