I am starting to plan our second trip for late June and I am looking for advice on where to base camp and get to some good fishing spots. I'll have five in our group with two being adults and three boys - 16, 15, 10. Portages are fine, but prefer nothing too extreme. Any advice on where to base camp and good lakes to fish with my boys?

How long do you have and do you care if it's a loop or out and back?

I am looking at 6-7 days in the BWCA. I'm not concerned about a loop but prefer to base camp or maybe camp in two spots.

Knife, Basswood. Big water, excellent fishing, nice places to camp all along the shores of any of those lakes. Portages aren't extreme. Alton or Brule an option from Tofte area if you want fast access. Clearwater and Caribou from Gunflint.
