Canoe Country Outfitters has campground at their Moose Lake Base. Looks like you can get a nightly rate. They are very close to the big public entry. CCO Campground

Open to more ideas if anyone else wants to add to the list. "

I’ve hiked back there close to a dozen times and have seen the a site occupied once.

The Secret/Blackstone hiking trail is like a 1/2 mile from the Moose Lake EP and their are campsites back in there. At least two sites that I know of. That would be the closest and cheapest option. There is one site that is about a 1/4 mile hike from the parking area, on the water if I remember correctly.

I've camped at Fall Lake Campgrounds in the past if there was a site open and driven to Moose in the morning. I have also slept in my car at the Moose Lake EP when there wasn't a campsite at Fall Lake open:-)

A more expensive option I have also done in the past was renting a bunkhouse from La Tourell's and getting a tow to Indian Portage from them in the morning.

I'm going to bookmark that CCO Campground info!

I found the Forest Service info on the trail yesterday when I was looking into it as an option and it looks like there is at least one official FS campsite there. Some maps/sources show a second site. Maybe one of the two is not an official site.

Second that. You can enter from their property. I have quite often and they have allowed us to park their.

Fenske Lake national forest campground is not exactly on the way to your entry from Ely but is a nice campground and offers one night reserveable sites as well as non reserveable sites. Not a real big campground but quiet and peaceful. It is about 12 miles north of Ely. There are sites available in late June right now.

This year our group of four is entering on Moose Lake in late June. We like to get an early start, so we prefer to camp near to our entry point the night before. There are a few reservable campsites at Fall Lake, but those requires a 2-night stay and we are only looking for one night. There are also first come/first served sites at Fall Lake, but if there's a chance we won't get a site there I'd like to have some backup options. Are there other campgrounds/campsites in this area (between Ely and EP 25)? Not interested in bunkhouses/cabins at outfitters.
