Okay, I have what is probably a stupid question for you more seasoned veterans of the BWCA! I have been 4 times, but it's been a few years, and I can't remember, but if I am going with a group of 4 people, 2 canoes, how many permits do I need?

One. Covers the entire group. You pay by the person. The number in your group can be adjusted at the time you pick up the permit.

One, but remember - you must all camp together on one site. I'd suggest a review of all rules and regulations - I intend to do so since it appears the USFS will be on a mission to prevent all the rule breaking that took place last year. There's a news release on the Superior National Forest website about how to pick up the permit, which is a little different from before so you'll want to be aware ahead of time. Reserve your permit as soon as possible as availability is non-existent for some EP's and dates, and scarce for many. Have a good trip.

If you separate for the day, you will need a stub of the main permit.
