OK, that helps me make up my mind, I will avoid Loon, although someday I will head there. I guess I will head back to Lynx as I know it well, I stayed there 2 years ago. Thanks!

Rather close to the trip to be doing this, I go in this Saturday the 5th through LIS north, and have never been to Loon so thought I would head there for a couple days. I am wondering if maybe heading towards Lynx instead for the sole reason of motorboats on Loon. It doesnt sound like a big deal normally, but with so many permits reserved I am wondering if the motors will take up most of the sites. Any insight from the group on this?

You're definitely going to see boats on Loon. There's a couple good sites closer to Little Loon and at least one other decent site on Little Loon that gets a little less boat traffic than the main body. If you want to avoid boats entirely, stay on Lynx or Heritage. There's one decent site on Heritage and at least 4 good ones on Lynx.

Definitely stay away from Loon and Little Loon. Lynx would be a good base camp lake but you could also take a look at Shell and Little Shell on your way through. Good luck.
