I can’t remember the trail itself, I was too busy trying not to slip and fall. Going down it’s quick.I did it carrying a wood/canvas canoe, plus I was mid fifties with Parkinson’s disease. By bwca standards it is unique, in the low mountains of Quebec this type of portage was not uncommon. I had my son hold the stern of the canoe as we descended, something I had never done before.

Has anybody had eyes on the "shortcut" entry into South Lake through Topper? Hows the road? I know the portage is a gnarly one but is it in good shape?

Feel free to msg privately if you'd like.

Thanks. For some reason that thread didn't come up in my search.
