I will be cancelling a permit for EP16 for September 3 on TuesdayJuly 20. I have a friend coming up from Florida for his first trip. I’d rather not chance the fires and bears for his first trip. We are heading over to Liz/Swamp on the Gunflint later in September. Hate to not go in 16, he will miss pictographs this trip.

It works better for my trip mate to go later in the month, so we are making the change. I really didn’t want to chance any of it for his first trip.

Don’t cancel.
Sept is a long ways off. Fires will be out. Bears will move on to another lake where a fresh group of campers with food packs will be.
