Ray, it should take no more than half that time - it's a little over 3 miles from launch to portage. It's been quite a few years since I was in there, but I don't remember it taking very long.

3.1 miles. 1 hour paddle time give or take 10 minutes.

I have checked with Hungry Jack and Bearskin Lodge. Neither provide any tow service.

I am looking for a tow up to the Alder portage. Does anyone know of anyone providing tow service on the lake.

I understand it is not a big lake, and probably just 2 1/2 - 3 hours paddle, however, I am interested in saving the time and energy.

Thanks.

Bearskin lodge is the only business on east bearskin lake.

Unless you know a private homeowner on the lake that might be willing to help you, you will probably just have to get an early start and make the most of it. It's a beautiful lake, esp early morning before everyone gets awake.

Agreed, it's not like a Moose lake tow or Sag that saves hours and hours. That paddle should be normally with the wind if there is any and take around an hour

I've paddled it solo. No problem. It's not that far, and the prevailing winds should help.

Good little warm up paddle before your first portage......which is also easy. Don't worry about a tow. Also, I'm not sure motors are allowed down that south arm all the way to Alder portage, so not sure you can get towed all the way. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Very nice paddle.

Up to 25 HP allowed in the two east arms. No restriction at all on the rest of the lake.
We are headed in that way in September and a tow never crossed my mind.
