We canceled our permit for 7/29 as I was scared of the low water levels. How crowded was Perent Lake when you finally got in? That was my other fear.

Three of us just went in Friday 7/30 and back out Sunday 8/1. I'm not going to say it was easy, but it's definitely doable. It was myself, my 15yo daughter and 15yo niece and we are experienced but not hard core. It took about 3hours to get through the river to the lake. There were 4-5 beaver dams where we had to unloaded us and the heavy packs and slide the canoe over. In addition, there were many sand bars where we had to step out and slide the canoe like a skateboard.
We were faster coming back because I put myself in the front to help steer through the many, many switchbacks and because we developed a system for the unloading/loading at the dams.
Wearing socks will help with the leaches, but we only saw them on the canoe. Hope this helps.

I just stumbled across this trip report. In the first paragraph he says he got a low water alert for Hog Creek from the Forest Service.

Lundojam has me nervous!
Will be on Hog Creek next Sunday.
So just wondering if anyone has paddled hog creek lately? If so is the water level a big problem, small problem, or better yet not a problem?
Thanks,
Tony
