We have talked to our groups that are coming up late September and done some rethinking. With no camp fire, no dutch ovens, no reflector ovens we had to redo our approach. We have larger groups, 5 in one, 7 in the other. We are also base campers. We have for years brought two burner stoves (Everest Camp Cheff) to use for cooking big breakfasts and dinners. One group is bringing an Omnia oven this year, and the other group a Coleman camp oven. They both sit right on the stoves and bake just like at home. Nights, after dark, will not be filled with baked items this year rather then a fire.
This also gives us another option for fish. We typically fry fish or blacken them. We also like to put them directly on the fire grates. This year we will try some baked recipes.

You are correct that charcoal is prohibited. I cannot speculate on when the FS will lift the ban, however. Given the dryness of the forest, I cannot imagine that the ban will be lifted anytime soon.

I just want to make sure I have it straight. In understand no fires of any kind. It seems to also state no charcoal. We typically bring up charcoal and use it on the dutch ovens. Am I correct that that is also not allowed?
Also, what I have read on the forest service sites seems to state they don't anticipate dropping the ban until after the first significant snow fall.
Do I have this right?

I think whatever it's, it has to have an off switch. So twig and leave burners are banned. I seen alcohol stoves are also banned. A cap I guess is not considered equal to a valve.
