A thoughtful concept. Wish I were free to take you up on it. Best of luck.

I have a regular tripping partner who wants to invite himself on my planned solo trip. I keep explaining that solo means "alone".

I think everyone understands the concept of "group solo", but it's not really a solo trip.

It's a great concept and I hope good company joins you. I can't join in. Too slow, too old for your pace (I triple portage), and am 1,000 miles away.

PeaceFrog: "Interesting. Isn't that an Oxymoron? Lol. I am assuming a group solo would travel together but camp at separate sites? Never thought of a group solo. Could be interesting. Hope you find your group and have a good trip with good weather."
Travel together, camp at same sites, but pack independently. You could share some gear to cut weight if you really wanted to, but it wouldn't matter to me. About the only thing I can share is Saw/Hatchet/Bleach/Pot/Lighter/Tarp.

So I was reflecting back to my first very scary solo trip many years ago as I booked a fall solo for 9/30 a bit ago. Wondering if anyone would be interested in tagging along as I make my way up the Moose River on 9/30? If you have always wanted to try a solo trip but would rather have training wheels, you are more than welcome to tag along. OR if you are experienced and want to travel with some company, you are also welcome to tag along. I have never done a group solo and have always been intrigued by the idea.

I will be leaving from Ely at around noon next Thursday when I pick up canoe/permit. I don't really have a route/plan, but will probably wander up to the Canadian border, and exit early Monday morning. I have seen both areas to the East and West of here and would like to shade this part of the map in on my "been there, done that" BWCA list.

I will be travelling pretty light, and most likely single portaging.

Let me know if you are interested.

Group Solo is younger brother of Han Solo and cousin of Napoleon Solo.

Hope you find some interested parties!

Wish I could join you, but alas...work prohibits. Have fun. I hope you get some takers.
