According to news report from last October, the tornado resulted in a section of the trail (near Mountain Lake and Clearwater portage) becoming impassable. I have not seen info yet whether any winter time work was done to clean it up and my guess is...not likely. It looks like a big cleanup effort will be needed.

I doubt you'll get much reliable Intel until after the snow melts.

Greetings all,

I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on current status of the border route trail after the fall tornado? I’m hoping to traverse the BR from east to west over a long weekend in early May and am curious about my options getting through this particular section. I’d greatly appreciate any recent experience/suggestions!
