Yeah both the Kawishiwi Ranger, and the outfitter on Snowbank confirmed, its about waist deep.


I guess some guys strung some paracord in the trees to guide your way across… they said its about 10 feet that you have to cross as the little bridge floated away.


Time to pack the Keen sandals, wear quick drying shorts, and waterproof the packs!!

I just heard that the portage from Parent to Disappointment is underwater waist deep. Anybody seen that before? I guess that means one could paddle through it, no??

The difficulty might be following the correct path through the trees.

I don’t think that’s considered a portage anymore.

That's a pond to paddle across at that point. The NW one out of Malberg is similar w/ a low spot in the middle. Low water you just walk through some water or mud. High water you might as well load up and paddle across.
