I'm planning on heading in at Sawbill and going up to Wine Lake this Saturday. Does anyone who's done this section have an idea as to whether the generally high water would cause any problems along this part of the route?

Lujenida-Zenith portage is likely to have some flooding in some sections, but shouldn't be impassable. I can't think of anything else that would be affected, and I just did a Sawbill-to-Wine trip last summer. Definitely take some time to check out Mug Falls. I'd imagine with water being the way it is, it'll probably be quite neat. Last summer, it was barely a drip which was kind of interesting on its own but far less exciting than a waterfall.

The Lujenida portage is usually a boardwalk with water. You might be able to paddle through.

I just posted a question on whether not the stream that runs parallel to the postage and ends up being the water you cross on the stream might be navigable this year. It hasn’t in the past but I don’t recall there ever being this much water. Please post a trip report!

I'll make sure I post an update on the portage conditions after I return. It would be great if we could paddle even some of it, but I'm not counting on it.

Even if you had to carry the gear separately, paddling part way would be helpful. If you get to a stopping point, consider bushwacking to the portage. That spot where the portage hits open water near the beginning is enough to take about 15 rods off by itself.
