All my life I have gone to the BWCA multiple times every year until covid. So the last couple years have kind of empty not going. But taking off Monday morning to the Sawbill area.... potentially take a walk to Sunlow lake to see what that looks like. Temps for the areas seem to be actually really good and just a little bit of rain so couldn't ask for much more if it holds up that way.

The planning part is for the first time kind of interesting. Usually I just have a shelf of what I take and do an arm sweep of all of it into my bag but thats all out of sorts now haha. Hoping I put my tent away decent enough and hopefully my rain gear is still rain proof lol.

Anyways I know what I am in for and it is super exciting to finally return. Have to start making it a habit again.

x2j, aside from the time early in covid when the BWCA was shut down, it seems like it was probably the safest place to be. For whatever reason you were unable to get back, glad you can finally make it. Just a thought, going in this time of year you might want to actually make a checklist, just in case the sweep of the arm off the shelf leaves out something important.

I hope your trip is great enough to make up for the lost opportunities. May your tent be in wonderful shape and your rain gear stay stashed in a pack!

Thanks trail! It should be good.

Lindy, I kind of avoided it because of the record number of people. I didn't want to be a part of that. And yes I have a basic checklist that I made for the others. I just have to bring a couple extra items like the tent and saw and hatchet but I think I got it down. Excited to finally get back!
