Little bit late to the game for a Memorial Day trip, so picked up a permit for Friday entry into EP 12 Little Vermillion. Planning a 4 day trip with being on the water at noon.
For those that are familiar with this area, do you have recommended areas to explore or camp whether some ways into the Boundary Waters or Voyageurs NP? With 4 days, entering and probably exiting Crane Lake. Open to a must-do route that would require a shuttle via an outfitter, that could be done.
Enticed by the fact that Crane Lake is an entry point for Voyageurs NP as well. Have been reading trip reports for this area along with studying Voyageurs NP area as well. Understand this area is a mostly motored area and will be ok with that. We travel light and plan to single portage and are are ok with challenging portages.
