Was wondering if anyone has been to dogfish lake that's SE of shell lake? Saw it on the map but don't see a portage or any camp sites. Curious about it and might bushwack out to check it out. Thanks for any info.

I skied to it years ago. I came up the outflow which drains into Woksapiwi creek. Interestingly there was a uninstalled fire grate laying on the shore, so the USFS must have had plans to put a campsite there at one point. One of these days I'm going to hike in there.

I have not been there, but it's on my list of lakes to visit. At one time there was a portage to lake (some old maps show it) but is overgrown now. I was able to follow it for maybe 50 yards but eventually it petered out.
