No, I am not proposing such an intrusive project. It's just that when I look at a map of northern Quetico I wish there was a navigable route between Lonely and Antoine and another between Alice and Buckingham. When you look at the topography, it appears God came close to completing those routes but instead rested on that day too.

Any other places in canoe country where a navigable route would be on your wish list if you could have had your say in directing the process of evolution?

Definitely some type of river into the interior lakes of Ep 14. I know you can use pocket creek but having rangeline creek or heritage creek navigable would definitely make things easier to access and open up even more loop options

I get where you’re going Argo. But those unfinished canals is what makes the place great. If it were any easier to get around, the crowds would be there too.

Plenty of lakes I wish were just a little easier to get to though. Most I can only dream of what they look like in person. A little peak into Heaven I think.

Yup. I don't want our wild places to be any easier to access than they are already.

Opening up the Vern River to a reasonable level of navigability up to Weird Lake would make for some pretty cool route options, and a pretty cool paddle. The Baker Lake and Sawbill EP's would then be in the picture as well as a larger loop route up through S. Temperance, across Brule, through Juno and out through Homer. I know some have tried it and even made it from Vern Lake to Weird Lake but none recommend it as a sane option.
