(Seriously, it's a great reminder to take it easy when solo.) |

It's getting dark at 7pm, so stop and setup early if you plan on camping out versus in your truck. There has been A LOT of rain so be prepared for water moving faster than anticipated. That's all I got, have fun! I'm considering a trip next weekend myself pending weather. |

I've got some time off work and am trying to decide if I should squeeze in a solo next week. I'm considering going in at Cross Bay Lake because of the smaller lakes and shorter portages. The other option is to camp in my truck and do day trips into several different entry points each day but return to my truck each night - don't go as far, nicer conveniences, less to carry. Temps are dropping and the wind is picking up. It would be great to hear your thoughts, advice, and reminders for late-season trips so I don't forget anything. I'm not overly worried, simply want to be as prepared as possible and certainly appreciate the help from folks on this board. Thanks in advance. |

Cross Bay is a great entry point for a small water October trip. I took little duckling there for her first trip at age 5. Be flexible and willing to adjust plans if needed. I just put in for a personal day next Friday so I can do a quick 2 night solo. |
