Here is another one to try. Sea Gull Lake Entry #54 You are headed southwest to Ogishkemuncie Lake. This lake has good fishing prospects. Eddy Falls - Day trip west out of Ogish through Annie & Jenny Lakes to Eddy Lake. The portage from Eddy Lake to South Arm of Knife Lake follows a great waterfall from Eddy to SAK. Mueller Falls - Once back to Ogish and then day trip southeast out of Ogish through Mueller Lake to Mueller Falls. You can also make an end to end route of this. Day 1 - Sea Gull Lake, Alpine, Jasper, Kingfisher, Ogishkemuncie. There is a waterfalls/rapids between Alpine and Jasper Lakes. You can get a tow to the end of Three Mile Island on Sea Gull Lake to help the start. Ogish can be a busy lake. You may need to go one lake further to Jenny or Mueller Lake for a campsite. Day 2. - Day Trip to Eddy Falls (Annie, Jenny, Eddy Lakes) Day 3 - Ogish, Mueller, Agamok, Gabimichigami, Rattle, Little Sag. The portage from Mueller Lake to Agamok Lake crosses the Kekakabic Trail. Put your canoe down here and turn east and walk the Kek Trail for about 1/4 mile to a bridge that crosses the river above the falls. There is a designated campsite near the falls for the Kek Trail hikers.Gabi can be a bear in the wind. Start early to avoid afternoon wind problems here. I think that Little Sag is probably the better fishery, but I know people like Gabi too. Day 4 - Little Sag, Virgin, West Fern, Powell, French, Gillis Lakes. There is a false portage off LIttle Sag toward Virgin. Make sure you are on the correct side of the stream. This area was burned and has some interesting recovery going on. Gillis is a pretty lake with some nice campsites. Day 5 - Gillis, Bat, Green, Flying, Gotter, Brandt (entry lake), Edith, West Round, Round Lake. End. You may need a shuttle. Either Sea Gull Outfitters or Tuscarora Lodge and Outfitters can do this. Both also have bunkhouses. Tuscarora has a great breakfast. There are lots of ways to permit this trip: 1. Start on Sea Gull Lake as suggested. 2. If the Sea Gull Lake permit is not available, another way to start this trip would be to get a Saganaga Permit and pick up a tow to Red Rock Lake. From there you can pick up the route above on Day 1 at Alpine Lake. 3. Going in reverse of this route is a start on Brandt Lake (entry #52). There are good chances there are permits available there. 4. You could even pull a Missing Link Entry (entry #51) and take the long portage down to Tuscarora Lake and over to LIttle Sag through Owl, Crooked, Tarry and Mora Lakes. This choice might add a day to your trip. Lots of choices here! Happy planning and I hope you have a great trip. |

What does OP stand for? We love to fish but that may be out of question since I dont have my permit yet. We really enjoy falls second. Anyone have a good recommendation for me? |

Haven't looked to see what entry points are available but either Fall Lake to the Basswood River as far as Lower Basswood Falls, or Moose River North to Iron Lake. Either entry would give you fishing and falls. |
