At our Community wood shop. ( Nokomis Woodworking).
We have an old Foley Belsaw planer. 12 3/4" width. It has served us well.

How wide does the 910 cut ?

Carefully inspect the rollers that feed the wood. If they are glazed, or real rough. ? Price parts and availability, and bargain accordingly !

We Also have a Dewalt 735 planer 13" We installed a Helix Carbide head. It is an animal ! I would by one of these in a heart beat ! If you are an occasional wood worker ? Use the Dewalt as is. The Helix head is a must at our shop.

Off hand I'd say the 910 is over priced !

Thanks for the reply Jim.

I bought it for $600. It also came with a 30' 220 extension cord. The feed rollers look good. I had to clean some wood resin off them, but they are still rubbery. I had to spot weld the outfeed table back on, and I need three set screws for adjusting the infeed and outfeed tables. The main body is all cast iron, and it has the 5hp motor. The blades were out of adjustment, so I reset those. Also needs blades sharpened. I will post a few pictures once I have it tuned up.

I am looking at a Belsaw 910 planer for sale for $700. Belsaw has a website where parts appear to be available. Does anyone know anything about these planers. It's 5hp and 220V. Seems like a solid older machine. Thanks in advance for any input.
