I would be very careful about using them without checking to make sure they are correctly scaled. I use CAD on a daily basis and and have printed large layouts to scale on 8-1/2" x 11" sheets and when I have taped them together I invariably have small discrepancies here and there. You would hate to find out later that your forms are not what you thought. When I built mine I purchased a full size set that was known to be accurate. This is just a cautionary thought and something to consider. Make sure you check the printed result against the lofting figures if you have them. Dick |

You'll need one sheet for each station and the two ends. Call ahead, you should be able to bring in a disk, flash drive or email. Prices seem to vary widely. I printed mine at work but the prices others quoted on other threads seemed pretty high to me. A ballpark price may be $1 per sf, so 6 sf per sheet times 15 sheets, say $100. |

Call around to find carbon paper of graphite transfer paper. Either one will do, the transfer paper just doesn't smudge as easily. You can use the same sheet multiple times. I believe I just used 8.5 x 11 and used small pieces of tape to hold them in place. If I remember right I used two packs of carbon paper. So maybe ten to fifteen dollars for that. Not all that expensive. |

The plans for the NW Merlin are on 2 sheets of paper. One for the bow stations and one for the stern stations. Open the PDF file. You will see 2 pages. Click on "File" and then "Document Properties" You will see that the page size is 36" X 24" and that is FULL SCALE. Copy the PDF to a flash drive and go down to your local print store (if you have something like Kinkos or an Allegra shop). Most print shops will have a printer capable of printing "blue print size documents". Tell them the page size and tell them to print both pages. That is it. I was going to print out a bunch and then paste them to my plywood as a cutting pattern (until I found the cost of that). It was cheaper and just as good to use carbon paper. |

Just make a couple copies and start cutting forms, cutting the largest forms first, using the copy as the templet. When you are done you have a bunch of paper shreds. CB |
